As a pre-Christmas treat, a trailer has finally arrived, even if it's compromised due to the platform's low-quality encoding—perhaps explaining the director's choice to restrict the trailer solely for theatrical audiences.
The Initial Look of the Stellar Ensemble
The debut footage showcases Matt Damon portraying the king of Ithaca. Audiences are introduced to Tom Holland playing the son alongside Anne Hathaway depicting the loyal wife. In a poignant moment, the character pleads with Odysseus to promise his safe homecoming, to which he look up and question what happens if he cannot. Adapted from a cornerstone in classic storytelling, The Odyssey follows the epic journey of the legendary King of Ithaca. After his triumph in the Trojan War, which is depicted within the companion epic, the king faces an extended and hazardous road home.

On his travels, Odysseus confronts numerous obstacles and mythical beings. These include the enchantress Circe, who transforms men into swine, as well as the treacherous Sirens. Despite these trials, Odysseus vows to overcome anything to get back to his wife and son in Ithaca.
